All I have ever wanted to do was help people heal. That's it. That's what wakes me up in the morning. - Tara Meyer-Robson

About Me:

First and foremost, I'm a helper. All of my life, I have simply wanted to take away people's pain and show them that they have the power to create a life that is filled with hope, love, joy, and wellbeing.

I'm an empath, too, so the desire to heal people comes from the core of my being. I feel other's emotions, pain, and illness deeply, which was something I didn't know how to handle for a long time.

"All I have ever wanted to do was help people heal. That's it. That is what wakes me up in the morning."

- Tara Meyer-Robson

Not understanding how to manage my empathic gift and working WAY too hard (ignoring the signals that I was burning out)  ended up in my getting mononucleosis at 29 years old. When I still didn't slow down (as the doctor instructed), it turned into chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), which found me almost unable to function. For a high-energy go-getter like me, this was almost unbearable. It was worse when a doctor told me it was "incurable," and I would have to manage it for the rest of my life.

Let's just say that I've never been good with authority or blindly believing anything. So, I decided not to believe him, and began researching everything I could get my hands on to get to the bottom of not only how to heal myself, but other questions I've had for years: Why do some people have negative life patterns that repeat and repeat? Why do some people succeed, while others, doing the same things, fail? What is the connection between emotions, underlying beliefs, and specific disease, illness, and pain?

The Discovery (or How I Didn't Sleep Until Found the Answer to My Questions):

I tirelessly researched psychology, energetic medicine, Eastern and Western Medicine, religious texts, philosophy, and more for over 5 years, in the process, formulating a hypothesis to the true connection between our beliefs, our emotions, our energetic system, and the reality that we experience. My husband started calling me "The Nutty Professor," since I was awake night after night, pouring over books with pens behind my ears and scribbling notes with arrows that connected pieces of information.

It was only when, on a whim, I decided to grab one of my husband's quantum physics books that the final piece of the puzzle went into place. I was so excited at my discovery that I called my husband at work and babbled on and on at him; his response? "That's awesome honey; can we talk about this when I get home tonight?" (He was in the middle of a meeting.)

From then on, I began to use these discoveries to first heal myself, and then started to work with family and friends. When my beloved Gramma VA was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer and tumors in her lungs, I used what I had learned to help her. Thankfully, she was open to what I had to say, and a miracle came when the three tumors in her lungs were no longer there, and needed no medical intervention. Her doctor was totally stunned, asking how in the world this was possible. My Gramma's answer? "Oh, it was my granddaughter." (Honestly, if this is all that I ever did with my life, I think I would feel like it was a life lived well; I don't think that there is anything that feels better than having helped someone you love heal.)

Bolstered by this experience, I started to work with more people to help them break negative habits and patterns and heal from pain and disease. To my delight (and surprise, if I was to be truthful), I was able to help everyone that I worked with using my skills and The Flow Method I had created.

My Book is Born: The Flow: 40 Days to Total Life Transformation

I worked my tail off to finish up my book, and in September of 2007, my first book, The Flow: 40 Days to Total Life Transformation came out. I was encouraged by the positive reviews and delighted by the stories of people's success. Within a year, it became an Amazon Bestseller in 3 categories, and won two prestigious national awards.

I began teaching 4-Day retreats, an experience that I absolutely adored. Watching people heal and transform before your eyes is a humbling, awesome experience. I still am in touch with all the people who came through my retreats.

My Romanian Book Tour

In a twist that is still an amazing example of the things that can happen when you set your intentions right, one of the people who attended a retreat was, unbenounced to me, a translator for one of the biggest publishers in Romania. She carried my book back to them, and the next thing I knew, my book was translated into Romanian and I was sent on a 10 day book tour where I was interviewed by the "Romanian Oprah" on their national TV station, was interviewed on their NPR, and spoke in front of about 1,000 people for the book launch at the Bucharest Book Fair (an incredible experience). I also did mind-body sessions with many individuals while there; I'm not sure I can ever describe what helping someone half-way around the world feels like. Needless to say, it was an experience for which I am insanely grateful.

My Own Dark Night of the Soul

It's not all been easy, though - since I got home from Romania in mid-2010, we've moved 8 times in 22 months (including a move to the middle of the country in Georgia where no one would speak to me and vicious loose dogs would chase us when we tried to walk), gave all my time and energy for 1.5 years to build a start-up company that ended up being run by a woman with a serious personality disorder and who bullied everyone into fearing her, had renters in our beautiful home who were raided by the FTC for a credit card scam then whose 18-year-old son broke back in and threw a party that destroyed several of our wood tables, and dealt with getting over the adrenal fatigue that came from all of this.

Honestly, it was not the best time in my life.

So, when I tell you that I know what it's like to go through a period of darkness and wonder why in the world all of this is happening to you, I speak from a place of genuine understanding. There were moments in the last couple of years where I just about lost hope that things would ever be good again. I felt like a fraud for the way I was feeling; and yet, I recognized that my feelings were okay - when life hands you a lot of lemons, it's okay for it to be too much for you for a while.

Thankfully, we got through all of that, and like I tell all of you, that dark night of the soul only serves to make you stronger, wiser, and more ready for the next awesome thing that will happen in your life.

I truly believe that all that chaos in my life for the last couple years has made me more empathetic, a better coach, a better trainer, and an all-around better person. I can help more people because I know - I really know - what a truly difficult period does to you, and I know how to help you pull out of it.

So, that's what you will find here on my site, on my upcoming podcast, and within my Manifest Your Dream Life Academy. I'm committed to giving you the very best of me to help you heal, find true love, succeed beyond your wildest dreams, and create the life of your dreams.

More than that, I want to help you to find your way through your own Dark Night of the Souls, so that you, too, can come out stronger, wiser, and more able to bring your gifts to the world.

Another Passion: Cooking Paleo Meals

I believe that what you eat is as important to your overall wellbeing as what you put into your mind, so I'm also going to share my favorite healthy recipes. I love to cook, and cook pretty much vegetarian-leaning Paleo with a heavy French influence, which essentially means that I cook everything from scratch, stay away from anything processed, make some amazing sauces, and have loads of veggies and fruits in meals. That said, I do make a killer boeuf bourguignon, so that will occasionally wander into mealtime as well. You can check out the creations from my kitchen here

Dressing for the Life You Want, Not the Life You Have

Have you ever heard the saying, "Dress for the job you want, not the job you have?" I change that a little to "Dress for the LIFE you want, not the one you have!"

The truth is that how you look has a huge impact on how you feel on a daily basis, and that has an impact on the signal you send out to life to attract new experiences. For me, I like to be very low-maintenance but look high-maintenance, so the tips I share will take you less time than you can imagine to make you look and feel your very best! As a serious bargain-hunter (thanks Gramma VA and Mom!), I love TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshall's, and DSW. When I splurge, I go to my favorite store, Nordstom's. And, because I am usually too busy to sit at a salon for hours and hours to get my hair done, I also cut and color my own hair - I use Argan Oil Hair Color. For all you ladies that don't have the time or money to get your hair done at a salon, I'll give my tips for you (I get compliments all the time, and I don't spend anywhere near $200 a pop)!

I Heart Netflix

We got rid of cable TV a few years ago, and I've never looked back. I adore Netflix, with no commercials and an endless array of on-demand programming that is creative, intelligent, and funny. You can find my weekly recommendations for Netflix viewing on here, too (coming soon).

The Realization of a Dream: We've Adopted!

And (drumroll please), in August of 2016, we got a surprise call that we'd been chosen for a baby girl that had been born the day before! Three hours later, we were meeting our daughter for the first time. Needless to say, it was one of the best moments in our lives so far. Our little girl is the love of our life and keeps us very busy, to say the least.

The Loves of My Life

I'm so happy to be married to my soulmate, John, for the last 17 years; I really couldn't have accomplished much of this without him.

I love to travel, hike, dance, try new restaurants, ghost hunt, do yoga, and watch the sunrise. My husband and I are always looking to try new experiences and aim to live life to its fullest.

Most of all, thank you for being here! I love to hear from fans, so please feel free to contact me via my contact form or click to leave a voicemail (via the little speech bubble on the side of the screen).

Let's get in the flow with the lives of our dreams together -

Much love, Tara
